Majorstua Kammerkor in 2012
Performances in the pipeline for spring 2012 are, besides church services, an Easter Concert in Oslo on Sunday March 25th and a concert tour to Köln and Düsseldorf in April/May. Details will be published here as the venues draw nearer. A summer concert may also be held in early June.

Procects 2011
Two grand performances of Mozart's Requiem were held April 9th and 10th 2011, in collaboration with Borg Cathedral Choir and the much celebrated early music orchestra Barokkanerne, as well as outstanding soloists.

Besides concerts and performances in the Oslo region, the choir was invited to sing during the annual celebration of the Norwegian patron St. Olaf in Rome, Italy, 16 October 2010. Two performances in central Rome were scheduled, including a matiné concert in the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere.

Celebrating 10 Years of Choir Music!
In 2009, the choir could look back on 10 years of vocal music and performances. Established in 1999, the choir's audience has steadily increased. New music and premier performances have attracted new listeners, while old choral classics have sustained a solid core in the choir's expanding repertoire.

Audio CD

In 2009 the choir published its first audio-CD Pulchra with contemporary Norwegian a cappella works by composer Ola Gjeilo. The CD is available through music stores and web-shops such as iTunes.

Premier Performance

In collaboration with the Nova Chamber Choir in Oslo, Majorstua Kammerkor commissioned a Latin Mass Sunrise from the  Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. The work is written for a double choir accompanied by strings, and premiered on 2 November 2008 in Majorstuen Church, Oslo. The project was supported by the Arts Council, Norway.

Rome 2007
In late April/early May, the choir ventured on a four day tour to Rome. Two concerts were conducted and the choir also participated in the celebration of Mass in two Roman churches. In addition to the various congregations, the choir aimed at reaching an audience of Norwegian-Italian circles, local concert goers and musicians, and not least the choral society of Rome.

Performances
The first concert took place in the remarkable basilica San Carlo al Corso, home to the Norwegian altar of St. Olav. The second performance was in the strikingly beautiful Santa Maria in Trastevere basilica. The choir also participated during Mass at both churches.

From Grieg to Gjeilo
The tour's overall aim was to bring contemporary Norwegian choral music to a wider audience. Marking the centennial anniversary of Edvard Grieg in 2007, the music brought along to Rome reflected how traditions in Nordic choral compositions have been preserved over the years, while at the same time showing the novelty and distinction found in the sounds of 21st century Norway.
